Ivana Paula Gortan-Carlin

Ivana Paula Gortan-Carlin is a Full Professor, graduated in 1994 from the Department of Musicology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. She obtained her Master's degree in 2005 from the Department of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and received her PhD in 2012 from the Department of Musicology in Ljubljana. Following professional training in Florence on cultural event organisation, she was employed in 2009 at the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, where she teaches music courses. Since 2010, she has taught Introduction to the History of Music Art within the Interdisciplinary Study Programme of Culture and Tourism, and Croatian Traditional Music at the Academy of Music. She was appointed Assistant Professor in 2015, Associate Professor in 2019, and Full Professor in 2024. She has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences since July 25, 2024. Since 1999, she has published scientific papers in domestic and international journals. From 2004-2016 and 2020-2024, she presided over the Čakavski Sabor Chair for Music Novigrad. She is the Vice President of the Čakavski Sabor Žminj and a member of the Croatian Musicological Society.
