Roberto Lazzaroni

Roberto Lazzaroni is a cultural and museum anthropologist who recently completed his PhD in Intangible Heritage in the Socio-Cultural Innovation at the University of Milano-Bicocca. His doctoral research was based on extended ethnographic fieldwork at the Museo Etnografico dell'Alta Brianza (MEAB, Lombardy, Italy) and the Ethnographic Museum of Istria (Pazin, Croatia), focusing on digitalisation practices, intangible cultural heritage, and community-driven museum work. His broader research interests include the politics of heritage-making, digital practices in ethnographic contexts, decolonial museology, and the relationship between community institutions and cultural memory infrastructures. Previous fieldwork conducted at the Ájtte museum in Jokkmokk, Sweden, examined questions of indigenous heritage and institutional representation in Sami cultural contexts. His work is informed by a commitment to engaged anthropology and to the study of marginalized communities and non-dominant institutions within heritage systems.
