Sara Dangubić

Sara Dangubić is a doctoral researcher in the Digital Linguistics programme at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Japanese Language and Culture from Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, where she also pursued Korean language and society related courses. Her research focuses on digital language learning, Korean and Japanese language education, mother tongue-based learning, learner-centred lexicography, learner motivation, gamification, and technology-enhanced language teaching.

Her doctoral project develops a digitally supported learner-oriented platform for Japanese and Korean language learning, integrating digital and comparative linguistics and lexicography. A distinctive aspect of her research is its comparative Japanese-Korean perspective with the particular emphasis on mother tongue-based learning, addressing the needs of learners studying both languages simultaneously and contributing to more effective East Asian language education.

She has presented her research at international conferences, including CASTEL-J, with additional presentations accepted at the European Association for Japanese Studies (EAJS) and other international scholarly meetings. She has participated in academic exchanges with the University of Tsukuba in Japan and Hanyang University in South Korea and has contributed to teaching activities in collaboration with international faculty. She is also involved in research on artificial intelligence, corpora, and virtual exchange for foreign language learning. Her work aims to advance innovative, inclusive, and digitally supported approaches to Korean language education in Europe.
